How to speak so that audience listen!

(And gets impressed too)

Public speaking remains an art form that both captivates and terrifies many. Yet, its impact can be profound when done effectively. From understanding your audience to mastering voice modulation, humor, and storytelling, here are some invaluable tips to make your public speaking endeavors truly impactful.
Understanding your audience is the first step to ace public speaking. Customisation is the key to making your speech engaging. Understand your audience’s interest, intention, age, purpose, and background to customise your speech. Tailoring your speech to resonate with your audience ensures maximum engagement.

Begin with the end in sight. Everyone in the audience has a question in mind ‘What’s in it for me?’ The answer could be information, a piece of news, or simply some entertainment. Let the purpose flow continuously through your speech

Humor breaks down barriers and fosters connection. Mark Twain understood this well, asserting, “Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand.” A well-timed joke can relax your audience and make your message more memorable. Unless the topic requires a serious discussion, keep sprinkling the humor, in moderation, throughout your speech

Voice modulation adds depth and emotion to your words, turning a mundane speech into a captivating performance. As Maya Angelou famously remarked, “Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with shades of deeper meaning.”
